Soaker · 1 map
The Megachelon is a large omnivore that serves as a Soaker. It utilizes a special passive taming method involving fish swarms to initiate bonding. This creature excels in underwater traversal and resource soaking tasks. It can be airlifted by Quetzal or Karkinos for fast deployment.
It does not gather resources while ridden but provides utility through its unique taming and environmental interaction mechanics.
Megachelon spawns in ocean biomes. It is uncommon and appears across 1 map. Look for it near deep water zones where small fish clusters are present, as these are key to its taming process.

Taming the Megachelon requires a special passive method. First, locate a swarm of small fish and guide them toward the Megachelon while swimming nearby. The taming process begins when the fish are near the creature. Use a Bear Trap or Large Bear Trap to immobilize it during the process. Plant Species Y can also be used to keep it in place.
The process takes time. Use the calculator below for your settings.
To tame the Megachelon, employ a passive approach. First, locate a cluster of small fish. Then, guide them towards a Megachelon. As you swim alongside the turtle with the fish swarm, the taming process will commence.
Killing a Megachelon yields Hide, Raw Meat, Raw Prime Meat, and Shell Fragment. The Hatchet yields the most Hide and Shell Fragment, while the Pick maximizes Raw Meat. For Raw Prime Meat, use a dino with Prime harvesting capabilities.
Estimates based on game-extracted data (weights, quantities, harvest multipliers, damage type chains). Each harvest event independently rolls each resource - higher weight = higher drop chance. Actual yields vary with RNG.
The Megachelon does not gather resources while ridden.
Megachelon has a +120% weakness to Instant HurtDinos, making it highly vulnerable to instant-damage effects. It is also weak to Melee DmgMetal RaidDino (+55%) and Explosion Demolition (+50%). Conversely, it has a -100% resistance to MiningDrill Harvest, rendering it immune to mining drill damage. It also resists Melee WithProjectileImpactFX and Ranged Turret Small DefensePlant by 50%. The Megachelon has a hitbox multiplier on its Pelvis, taking only 0.5× damage from attacks hitting that zone. Focus on other body parts for more efficient damage output during combat or knockout attempts.

The Megachelon is immune to damage from MiningDrill Harvest due to its -100% resistance.
It takes 120% more damage from instant-damage sources, such as certain environmental hazards or special abilities.
Explosive damage is highly effective, dealing 50% more than normal.
Melee attacks with metal properties deal 55% more damage, making them ideal for quick takedowns.
