The Dreadnoughtus is a massive herbivore used primarily as a soaker in boss fights. Its special passive taming method allows it to be tamed using Element, after which it follows the player and can be guided to an Element Vein for taming. While feeding at the vein, it must be defended from waves of corrupted creatures until taming completes. This makes it a unique support tank in endgame scenarios.
Dreadnoughtus is uncommon and spawns across 8 ARK maps. It typically appears in mountainous and high-elevation biomes. The green zones on the spawn map indicate areas with the highest density.

Taming a Dreadnoughtus requires the Special Passive method. Feed it Element from your hotbar and it will follow you for 60 seconds. Kite it to an Element Vein, preferably an alpha-difficulty node for better effectiveness. While it feeds, defend it from corrupted creature waves until taming completes. The process takes about 60 seconds. Use the calculator below for your settings.
To tame a Dreadnoughtus, feed it Element from your hotbar — it will follow you for 60 seconds. Kite it to an Element Vein (alpha-difficulty veins give better effectiveness) where it will begin feeding from the node. While it feeds, defend it from waves of corrupted creatures until the taming bar fills.
Killing a Dreadnoughtus yields Sauropod Vertebra, Hide, Raw Meat, and Raw Prime Meat. The Hatchet yields the most Hide, while the Pick maximizes Raw Meat and the Dino (Prime) tool is best for Raw Prime Meat.
Estimates based on game-extracted data (weights, quantities, harvest multipliers, damage type chains). Each harvest event independently rolls each resource - higher weight = higher drop chance. Actual yields vary with RNG.
While mounted, Dreadnoughtus can gather using its Neck Flail, Vomit Cannon, and Tail Flail attacks. Each of these attacks harvests Berries, Crop Seeds, Mejoberry, Narcoberry, Plant Species X Seed, Plant Species Y Seed, Rare Flower, Rare Mushroom, Stimberry, Wood, Cactus Sap, and Fiber at 10× efficiency. Cactus Sap and Fiber are gathered at 8× efficiency.
Dreadnoughtus takes +400% more damage from spike walls, making them highly effective for defense. It also has a +120% weakness to Instant HurtDinos and +55% to Melee DmgMetal RaidDino. It resists Melee Dino Carnivore attacks by 40%. Focus on avoiding spike traps in combat.

The head has a damage multiplier of 1.25x, making headshots more effective for knocking out or damaging the Dreadnoughtus. All other body zones take standard damage.

The Neck Flail has a 30m range and deals 1080 damage, useful for kiting enemies while gathering. The Vomit Cannon gathers the same resources as the Neck Flail but at a shorter range of 25m. The EMP Roar disables electronics within 25m every 120 seconds. Tail Flail deals 1080 damage and gathers the same resources as the other attacks. Defend it during taming at Element Veins to prevent corrupted creature aggro.

When Hatching Eggs make sure you have a bunch of Sweet Vegetable Cakes or a few thousand berries for them. I even force feed them berries at the start while they ate the cakes on cooldown to make sure they didn't die.
