Andrewsarchus Taming Calculator

Throw Giant Bee Honey from your hotbar near an Andrewsarchus, then mount it while it is eating. Its aggro range is low enough that you do not need a Ghillie Suit. Once you are on, a minigame starts: hold the direction it asks for while the arrow is green and release when it stops. Steering wrong costs effectiveness and some of your remaining time on its back. It changes direction every few seconds, much faster near water, and getting off late costs effectiveness too.

How this tame works

No knockout

About 7 minutes at level 150.

Time steering7:03Assuming you never steer wrong
Progress rate100/s25 every 0.25s while you match
It turns every4-7sFaster than that near water
Tames at225from level 150
Wrong emotes

Wrong inputs cost no progress, only 0.1% effectiveness each, so accuracy decides the level you end up with.

  • Ride it and steer whichever way it wants to go. Hold that direction and you gain about 100 progress a second, with roughly 0.5s of leeway when it switches.
  • Getting off late costs 2.0% effectiveness, so drop the moment it stops.
