Ruth left Stratford with what she insists was a “very normal, completely thought-through life decision” and absolutely not a mild existential crisis disguised as spontaneity. Back home, she was the funny, easygoing creative who never seemed to take anything too seriously, which was great until she realised everyone had started treating that as a fixed role instead of a passing impression. Now she’s in Melino on her own, attempting to turn her creativity into an actual adult career. She’s good with people, quick with a joke, and has a habit of sorting everyone else’s problems before her own even make it onto the list. As for what she actually wants long-term, the answer changes depending on the day, the lighting, and how confident she feels about her canvas. She’s working on it. Mostly by pretending she already knows what she’s doing.
