Megapithecus (Beta) is a boss-tier creature in ARK: Survival Ascended, fought in a dedicated arena and one of the toughest endgame challenges in the game. Megapithecus (Beta) cannot be tamed through normal means and engages survivors with 160,000 base Health - one of the toughest creatures in the game. Reproduction is by live birth following gestation; juveniles mature over an extremely long period, one of the longest in the game. Once tamed it harvests Pelt, Raw Meat, Raw Prime Meat more efficiently than most player tools. Defeating it stands as a tribe-wide accomplishment and a step toward tek-tier rewards.
