Found throughout the ARKs, the Concavenator is a tamable, carnivore creature in ARK: Survival Ascended. It falls within the DMG classification.

Starting at 425 Health, it's decently sturdy. Dealing 100% base Melee Damage, the Concavenator brings decent hitting power to the table. Stamina sits at 350 base, providing good endurance. A base Weight of 325 means generous inventory space.

You'll need to knock the Concavenator unconscious before taming it. Tranquilizers are the standard approach. Superior Kibble is the most effective food for taming, offering the highest affinity per feeding.

After taming, the Concavenator is primarily used for resource harvesting, excelling at gathering specific materials. It reproduces by laying eggs, which must be incubated between 50°C and 53°C. It can be cloned at a Cloning Chamber for 0.26 Element plus 0.01 Element per level.

Taming the Concavenator requires applying enough torpor to knock it out. Use tranquilizer projectiles, then place food in its inventory. Once unconscious, Torpor drains at 1/s, so keep Narcotics or Bio Toxin ready.

The results below show total taming time, effectiveness, and bonus levels for the Concavenator at your selected level and food. Higher-quality foods yield more bonus levels.

Use the narcotic calculator to determine exactly how many Narcotics, Bio Toxin, or Narcoberries you need for the Concavenator. Narcotics provide 40 Torpor each and are the standard choice. Bio Toxin offers 80 Torpor but is harder to farm. Narcoberries at 7.5 each are a last resort. At 1 Torpor drain per second, apply narcotics proactively - a wakeup mid-tame wastes everything.

Use the knockout chart to see exactly how many Tranq Arrows, Darts, or other torpor weapons it takes to down the Concavenator. Space your shots to let torpor accumulate - rapid firing risks killing it before knockout.

To simplify the knockout, immobilize the Concavenator first with Chain Bola or Bear Trap. Alternatively, use a Tusoteuthis to airlift it into a pre-built trap.
