The raising calculator above shows exactly how much food you need for each maturation phase of the Lumina. Budget ~556 minutes for the Baby phase - this is when hand-feeding or Maewing nursing is mandatory.
Raising multiple Lumina simultaneously? Set the dino count and the calculator scales food requirements automatically. Different food types have different spoil timers - factor that into which food you stockpile.
ARK: Survival Ascended features the Lumina as a tamable, flying, carnivore creature that survivors will encounter in the wild.
With 650 base Stamina, the Lumina has massive stamina reserves. Its base Melee Damage sits at 100%, giving it respectable melee power. Health-wise, the Lumina sits at 800 base, making it quite durable. Weight capacity starts at 350, giving it a solid weight pool.
This is a passive tame: no tranquilizers needed. Get close without startling it, then offer food from your last hotbar slot. Its preferred food is Raw Mutton.
As a tame, the Lumina works well as a reconnaissance mount, offering fast travel and a bird's-eye view of the terrain. Breeding produces fertilized eggs that hatch within a -90°C–-80°C temperature window. Killing a wild Lumina yields 20 base XP. It can be cloned at a Cloning Chamber for 0.82 Element plus 0.01 Element per level.
After a successful mate, the Lumina lays a fertilized egg. Incubation temperature must stay between -90°C and -80°C - use Air Conditioners, Standing Torches, or Dimetrodons to maintain the range. At the correct temperature, the egg hatches in approximately 4 hours and 59 minutes.
Full maturation from baby to adult takes ~3 days and 20 hours (1x rate), progressing at a glacially slow pace - plan for a multi-day commitment. Hand-feeding is required until 10% maturation. After that, a Feeding Trough handles the rest.
Each baby inherits stats from both parents with a chance of mutation - +2 wild levels to a random stat plus a color change. Use the breeding calculator to plan food requirements, incubation timers, and maturation phases.
The Lumina's growth progresses through three stages: Baby (0–10%) lasts ~556 min and requires constant hand-feeding. Juvenile (10–50%) spans ~37h - it can eat from a Trough now. Adolescent (50–100%) takes ~46h - continues eating from troughs, nearly fully grown.
Imprinting during maturation provides permanent stat bonuses. At 100% imprint, the Lumina gains 30% bonus damage and resistance when ridden by the imprinter. Keep various kibble types on hand, as imprint requests are randomized between cuddles, walks, and kibble feeding.
