The results below show total taming time, effectiveness, and bonus levels for the Triceratops X at your selected level and food. Higher-quality foods yield more bonus levels.
Taming the Triceratops X requires applying enough torpor to knock it out. Use tranquilizer projectiles, then place food in its inventory. Once unconscious, Torpor drains at 0.1/s, so keep Narcotics or Bio Toxin ready.
Use the narcotic calculator to determine exactly how many Narcotics, Bio Toxin, or Narcoberries you need for the Triceratops X. Your options are Narcotics (40 Torpor), Bio Toxin (80 Torpor, best efficiency), or Narcoberries (7.5 Torpor, cheapest but slowest). With Torpor draining at 0.1/s, don't wait until the bar is nearly empty to apply narcotics.
Use the torpor and starve timers to track your Triceratops X tame in real time. Torpor monitoring prevents premature wakeups. The starve timer is for the starve-tame method - let Food drop, then load all kibble at once to avoid waste.
Use the knockout chart to see exactly how many Tranq Arrows, Darts, or other torpor weapons it takes to down the Triceratops X. Space your shots to let torpor accumulate - rapid firing risks killing it before knockout.
To simplify the knockout, immobilize the Triceratops X first with Chain Bola or Bear Trap. Alternatively, use a Quetzal to airlift it into a pre-built trap.
The Triceratops X, a tamable, herbivore creature in ARK: Survival Ascended, is a common sight across multiple maps. It falls within the Variant classification.
Health-wise, the Triceratops X sits at 364 base, making it decently sturdy. With 105% base Melee Damage, the Triceratops X has solid damage output. Its base Stamina of 150 gives it average stamina. Weight capacity starts at 365, giving it good carrying capacity.
Taming the Triceratops X requires rendering it unconscious first - use Tranq Arrows, Darts, or Shocking Tranq Darts to apply torpor. For best results, use Simple Kibble - it gives the highest taming efficiency.
Once tamed, the Triceratops X is valued for its harvesting efficiency, collecting key resources faster than most tools. It reproduces by laying eggs, which must be incubated between 22°C and 28°C. Killing a wild Triceratops X yields 4 base XP. It can be cloned at a Cloning Chamber for 0.23 Element plus 0.01 Element per level.
