Attributes
The attributes you raise in the skill tree, what one point gives, and the Health, Mana and Stamina a number of points gives.

The six attributes
Each attribute node of the skill tree raises its attribute by 1 and costs 1 skill point. The tree has 59 attribute nodes.

Points from the Flame
Character Attribute bonuses in the Flame Altar menu: +1 for each Flame level above 1. The equipment menu describes it as the blessing of the Flame raising your primary attributes by that amount each.
