Variant
The X-Ankylosaurus is a variant of the Ankylosaurus, sharing its herbivorous diet and compact, armored build. It provides -85% weight reduction on Metal, making it exceptionally efficient for hauling heavy metal resources. This dino is primarily tamed to streamline Metal transport in large-scale building projects. It can be airlifted by Argentavis, Karkinos, Quetzal, or Tusoteuthis for rapid deployment to remote bases.
The weight reduction applies to inventory load, reducing strain during long-distance hauling operations.

Taming the X-Ankylosaurus requires a knockout method. Use Regular Kibble for the fastest taming, as it provides the highest affinity. Mejoberry can be used as a fallback if kibble is unavailable. Immobilize it with a Chain Bola, Bear Trap, or Large Bear Trap to prevent escape. Alternatively, apply Plant Species Y to incapacitate it. Use ranged weapons such as the Bow, Crossbow, or Compound Bow with Tranq Arrows to sedate it safely. The process takes around 41 minutes. Use the calculator below for your settings.

Killing the X-Ankylosaurus yields Hide, Raw Meat, and Keratin. The Hatchet is the best tool for harvesting Hide and Keratin, while the Pick yields the most Raw Meat.
Estimates based on game-extracted data (weights, quantities, harvest multipliers, damage type chains). Each harvest event independently rolls each resource - higher weight = higher drop chance. Actual yields vary with RNG.
The X-Ankylosaurus provides -85% weight reduction on Metal, significantly easing inventory load during resource transport. Pair it with a Argentavis or Quetzal for aerial hauling while maintaining the weight benefit.
The X-Ankylosaurus takes +120% more damage from Instant HurtDinos, making it highly vulnerable to certain mechanical threats. It also suffers +100% more damage from Spike Wall impacts, so avoid using it in spike-based defenses. Conversely, it has -60% damage reduction from fire-based attacks, making it resilient in fire-heavy environments.

The tail attack gathers Thatch, Wood, and Berries at 10× efficiency, making it ideal for rapid node farming. Use this dino to harvest Plant Species X, Y, and Z seeds quickly. Its weight reduction on Metal pairs well with high-capacity carriers like Argentavis. Carry it with Karkinos or Tusoteuthis for amphibious base access. The -60% fire resistance allows safer operation in volcanic zones. Avoid placing it near spike walls due to its extreme vulnerability.
