During the Baby phase (0-10%), you must hand-feed or use a Maewing to nurse. From Juvenile (10%+), dinos can eat from a Feeding Trough on their own. Use Preserving Salt in troughs to double spoil times.
More about breeding the Triceratops
After a successful mate, the Triceratops lays a fertilized egg. Incubation temperature must stay between 22°C and 28°C - use Air Conditioners, Standing Torches, or Dimetrodons to maintain the range. At the correct temperature, the egg hatches in approximately 2 hours and 29 minutes.
Full maturation from baby to adult takes ~1 day and 22 hours (1x rate), progressing requiring significant patience. Hand-feeding is required until 10% maturation. After that, a Feeding Trough handles the rest.
Each baby inherits stats from both parents with a chance of mutation - +2 wild levels to a random stat plus a color change. Use the breeding calculator to plan food requirements, incubation timers, and maturation phases.
The Triceratops's growth progresses through three stages: Baby (0–10%) lasts ~278 min and requires constant hand-feeding. Juvenile (10–50%) spans ~19h - it can eat from a Trough now. Adolescent (50–100%) takes ~23h - continues eating from troughs, nearly fully grown.
Imprint bonuses are significant: a fully imprinted Triceratops gains 30% extra damage and damage resistance with its imprinter mounted. Imprint requests include cuddling, walks, and specific kibble - check the wiki for which kibble to stockpile.

With 150 base Stamina, the Triceratops has average stamina. Melee starts at 100% - decent hitting power that scales with level-ups. Starting at 375 Health, it's decently sturdy. A base Weight of 365 means generous inventory space.
The Triceratops is a knockout tame: apply enough torpor to knock it out, then place food in its inventory. For best results, use Simple Kibble - it gives the highest taming efficiency.
Once tamed, the Triceratops is valued for its harvesting efficiency, collecting key resources faster than most tools. Breeding produces fertilized eggs that hatch within a 22°C–28°C temperature window. A wild Triceratops is worth 4 base experience when killed. It can be cloned at a Cloning Chamber for 0.23 Element plus 0.01 Element per level.
