Variant
The Tek Triceratops is a herbivorous variant of the Triceratops with enhanced capabilities through Tek evolution. It reduces the weight of several key resources in its inventory and can be carried by larger creatures for rapid deployment. This makes it ideal for resource transport and field operations where weight efficiency is critical. It can be airlifted by Quetzal or Tusoteuthis for fast deployment.
Players typically tame the Tek Triceratops to streamline metal and electronics gathering while benefiting from its reduced inventory weight during transit.
Tek Triceratops does not currently spawn on any ARK: Survival Ascended map, or spawn data is not yet available.
Taming the Tek Triceratops requires knockout methods. Use a Chain Bola, Bear Trap, or Large Bear Trap to immobilize it first. Then sedate it with Tranq Arrows from a Bow, Crossbow, or Compound Bow, or use a Fabricated Sniper Rifle with Tranquilizer Darts. Feed it Simple Kibble for the fastest taming. Azulberry and Amarberry are acceptable alternatives but offer significantly lower effectiveness. The process takes about 20 minutes and requires no Narcotics. Use the calculator below for your settings.

Killing a Tek Triceratops yields Scrap Metal, Electronics, Oil, and Element Dust. The Pick is the best tool for maximizing yields of all these resources.
Estimates based on game-extracted data (weights, quantities, harvest multipliers, damage type chains). Each harvest event independently rolls each resource - higher weight = higher drop chance. Actual yields vary with RNG.
While ridden, the Tek Triceratops gathers a wide range of resources using its primary attack. It harvests Berries, Crop Seeds, Mejoberry, Mejoberry Seed, Mushroom, Narcoberry, Narcoberry Seed, Plant Species X Seed, Plant Species Y Seed, Rare Flower, Rare Mushroom, Stimberry, Stimberry Seed, and Wood at 10× efficiency. It also gathers Cactus Sap and Fiber at 8× efficiency.
The Tek Triceratops has a strong vulnerability to Instant HurtDinos, taking +120% damage. It is also weak to spike walls (+100%) and explosive damage (+50%). It is highly resistant to fire, taking 60% less damage. Melee attacks with impact effects are also 50% less effective against it. Focus on fire-based weapons for optimal damage output.
4 base × 15.9 level × 4 × 1.25× wild kill × 1× server
Official servers use non-1× defaults; the values above already reflect official rates.

The head has a damage multiplier of 0.15, making it highly resistant to damage. Target the body for efficient knockout taming.
Can break Thatch and Wood structures. Build at least in Stone to resist its attacks.

Numbers reflect base melee at level 1, 100% TE, no imprint. The damage calculator lets you scale by melee %, server multipliers, and pick a specific structure for exact hit counts.
The primary attack gathers most plant-based resources at 10× efficiency, making it exceptional for rapid farming node clearing.
It harvests Wood at 10×, outperforming many dedicated wood gatherers.
Cactus Sap and Fiber are gathered at 8×, providing efficient desert biome harvesting.
Its weight reductions apply to high-value Tek resources, ideal for Tek farming runs.
It can be carried by Quetzal, enabling fast, long-range transport without losing inventory benefits.
The head has a damage multiplier of 0.15, making it inefficient for headshots during knockout.
