The Tek Parasaur is a rare variant of the Parasaur with enhanced capabilities. It provides significant weight reduction for certain resources, making it valuable for transport logistics. It can be airlifted by Argentavis, Karkinos, Megalosaurus, Quetzal, or Tusoteuthis for rapid deployment across long distances.
Players typically tame the Tek Parasaur to streamline resource hauling, especially when paired with flyers for aerial support.
The Tek Parasaur spawns exclusively in the lunar biome. It is classified as rare, appearing on only one ARK map. Due to its low abundance, players should consult the spawn map for precise location tracking, focusing on green zones which indicate higher spawn density.

Taming a Tek Parasaur requires knockout via tranquilizer. The most effective food is Basic Kibble, which provides the fastest taming time. Mejoberry can also be used if kibble is unavailable, though it is significantly slower.
Use a Bow or Crossbow with Tranq Arrows to sedate it. Immobilize the creature first with a Bola, Bear Trap, or Plant Species Y. The process takes around 7 minutes with 8 units of Basic Kibble and requires no Narcotics. Use the calculator below for your settings.

Killing a Tek Parasaur yields Scrap Metal, Electronics, Oil, and Element Dust. The Pick is the most efficient tool for harvesting all these resources from its corpse.
Estimates based on game-extracted data (weights, quantities, harvest multipliers, damage type chains). Each harvest event independently rolls each resource - higher weight = higher drop chance. Actual yields vary with RNG.
The Tek Parasaur does not gather resources while being ridden.
The Tek Parasaur is highly vulnerable to damage from instant hurt dinos, taking +120% more damage. It also suffers +100% damage from spike walls and +55% from metal melee attacks. It is strongly resistant to fire, taking 60% less damage. Avoid fire-based attacks when fighting it.

The AlertPulse ability emits a detection pulse, revealing nearby structures and creatures.
The Frighten ability has a 15-meter range and a 120-second cooldown, useful for deterring aggressive dinosaurs.
It can be carried by Argentavis, Karkinos, Megalosaurus, Quetzal, and Tusoteuthis for fast travel.
