Variant
The Tek Parasaur is a herbivorous variant creature known for its advanced technology and unique utility. It reduces the weight of certain resources in its inventory, making it highly efficient for transport logistics. This dino excels at gathering plant-based resources while ridden and can be airlifted by Argentavis, Karkinos, Megalosaurus, Quetzal, or Tusoteuthis for rapid deployment across the map.
Players primarily tame the Tek Parasaur to optimize resource collection and streamline inventory management during long expeditions.
Tek Parasaur does not currently spawn on any ARK: Survival Ascended map, or spawn data is not yet available.
Taming the Tek Parasaur requires a knockout method. Use a Bola, Bear Trap, or Plant Species Y to immobilize it first. Then, apply sedation using Tranq Arrows from a Bow, Crossbow, or Compound Bow, or use a Tek Bow, Fabricated Sniper Rifle, or Longneck Rifle.
The best food is Basic Kibble, with Mejoberry as a viable alternative. About 8 Basic Kibble are needed. The tame takes around 7 minutes and requires no Narcotics. Use the calculator below for your settings.

Killing a Tek Parasaur yields Scrap Metal, Electronics, Oil, and Element Dust. The Pick is the best tool for maximizing yields of all these resources.
Estimates based on game-extracted data (weights, quantities, harvest multipliers, damage type chains). Each harvest event independently rolls each resource - higher weight = higher drop chance. Actual yields vary with RNG.
While ridden, the Tek Parasaur gathers a wide variety of plant-based resources. Its melee attack harvests Wood, Fiber, Mejoberry, Stimberry, Narcoberry, Rare Flower, Rare Mushroom, and various seeds with a 10× multiplier. It also collects Cactus Sap at 8× efficiency. This makes it one of the most effective herbivore gatherers available.
The Tek Parasaur has a strong vulnerability to melee attacks from metal-based weapons, taking +55% more damage. It is also weak to explosions and spike walls, which deal +50% and +100% damage respectively. Conversely, it is highly resistant to fire damage, taking -60% less. Use non-fire ranged weapons when fighting it.
1 base × 15.9 level × 4 × 1.25× wild kill × 1× server
Official servers use non-1× defaults; the values above already reflect official rates.

Numbers reflect base melee at level 1, 100% TE, no imprint. The damage calculator lets you scale by melee %, server multipliers, and pick a specific structure for exact hit counts.
The Tek Parasaur reduces inventory weight for Scrap Metal, Electronics, Oil, and Element Dust by 80%.
It can be carried by Argentavis, Karkinos, Megalosaurus, Quetzal, and Tusoteuthis, enabling fast aerial transport.
While mounted, it harvests Mejoberry, Narcoberry, Stimberry, and seeds at 10× efficiency.
It is highly vulnerable to spike walls, taking +100% damage, making it risky to pen in such enclosures.
Fire-based attacks are only 40% as effective due to its strong resistance.
