Overview
The Scrap Elemental is a massive, mineral-consuming variant creature. It reduces the weight of gathered resources in its inventory, making it ideal for resource transport. It excels at harvesting a wide variety of materials efficiently while ridden. The Scrap Elemental can be airlifted by Quetzal or Karkinos for fast deployment.
Spawn Locations
Scrap Elemental does not currently spawn on any ARK: Survival Ascended map, or spawn data is not yet available.
Tame the Scrap Elemental using the knockout method. The best food is Sulfur, with Clay also working but less effectively. Use ranged weapons like the Bow, Crossbow, or Fabricated Sniper Rifle with Tranq Arrows or Tranquilizer Darts to sedate it. Expect around 503 minutes of taming time using Sulfur. Drops & Harvest Resources
Killing a Scrap Elemental yields Crystal, Stone, Obsidian, Oil, Metal, and Sulfur. The Pick is the best tool for harvesting all of these resources from its corpse.
Estimates based on game-extracted data (weights, quantities, harvest multipliers, damage type chains). Each harvest event independently rolls each resource - higher weight = higher drop chance. Actual yields vary with RNG.
Gathering Abilities
While ridden, the Scrap Elemental gathers a broad range of resources. Its Melee Attack and Swipe harvest up to 9× yields of Blue Gem, Cementing Paste, Condensed Gas, Crystal, Electronics, Element Dust, Element Ore, Flint, Fragmented Green Gem, Green Gem, Metal, Obsidian, Oil, Organic Polymer, Rare Mushroom, and Sand.
Damage Resistances
The Scrap Elemental has a +120% weakness to Instant HurtDinos, making it highly vulnerable to certain environmental hazards. It is highly resistant to fire, taking -100% damage from Flame Throwers and Projectile Fire. It also resists melee and instant damage sources by -90%. Level Health and Melee Damage.
