Roll Rat Egg & Breeding Calculator

The Roll Rat gives live birth after mating, skipping the egg-incubation step entirely. Gestation takes approximately 4 hours and 59 minutes at default rates.

Full maturation from baby to adult takes ~2 days and 9 hours (1x rate), progressing slowly. Hand-feeding is required until 10% maturation. After that, a Feeding Trough handles the rest.

Each baby inherits stats from both parents with a chance of mutation - +2 wild levels to a random stat plus a color change. Use the breeding calculator to plan food requirements, incubation timers, and maturation phases.

The hatched dinosaur, now a baby, needs constant attention and food placed directly in its inventory to survive, or a nearby Maewing to take care of its needs.

The dinosaur reaches the juvenile stage, where it can now eat from a feeding trough, reducing the need for direct feeding.

14:28:03
The dinosaur reaches the adolescent stage, becoming more independent and able to follow you while continuing to grow toward full maturity.

Maturation has three phases: Baby (0–10%) lasts ~347 min and requires constant hand-feeding. Juvenile (10–50%) spans ~23h - it can eat from a Trough now. Adolescent (50–100%) takes ~29h - continues eating from troughs, nearly fully grown.

Don't skip imprinting - each successful imprint boosts the Roll Rat's stats, and hitting 100% grants a 30% combat bonus when the imprinter rides it. Keep various kibble types on hand, as imprint requests are randomized between cuddles, walks, and kibble feeding.

The raising calculator above shows exactly how much food you need for each maturation phase of the Roll Rat. Budget ~347 minutes for the Baby phase - this is when hand-feeding or Maewing nursing is mandatory.

Raising multiple Roll Rat simultaneously? Set the dino count and the calculator scales food requirements automatically. Different food types have different spoil timers - factor that into which food you stockpile.

During the Baby phase (0-10%), you must hand-feed or use a Maewing to nurse. From Juvenile (10%+), dinos can eat from a Feeding Trough on their own. Use Preserving Salt in troughs to double spoil times.

The Roll Rat is a tamable, herbivore creature in ARK: Survival Ascended. It belongs to the Farmer category.

At 850 base HP, the Roll Rat is quite durable. Melee starts at 100% - respectable melee power that scales with level-ups. Its base Stamina of 300 gives it moderate endurance. Weight capacity starts at 400, giving it a solid weight pool.

The Roll Rat is passively tamed - approach it carefully and feed it by hand without knocking it out. Its preferred food is Giant Bee Honey.

Once tamed, the Roll Rat is primarily used for resource harvesting, excelling at gathering specific materials. It gives live birth after a gestation period, making breeding straightforward. Defeating one in the wild grants 7 base XP. It can be cloned at a Cloning Chamber for 0.45 Element plus 0.01 Element per level.
