Parrot Taming Calculator

A Parrot never eats from your hand. Use an emote such as Wave near a wild one and it lands on your shoulder. From there you earn its trust by doing things worth doing: killing Alpha creatures is the fastest, digging up buried treasure from a message in a bottle works, and finishing missions or collecting the crates they leave counts too. Keep doing things: idling costs you.

Harder hunts pay more, so the count drops sharply if you take on the tough ones.

  • It circles you for 45s before it will settle, and re-checks whether you are still worth following every 20s.
  • It tags along and pays out when you finish a treasure hunt, up to 4000 progress for the hardest kind.
  • Standing around costs you progress every 90 seconds, about 1% of the requirement each time.
  • Take longer than 10 minutes and it turns on you.

Starve & Torpor Timers

The timer below tracks feeding intervals for your passive Parrot tame - it tells you exactly when the next feeding window opens.

The Parrot is a tamable, flying, omnivore creature in ARK: Survival Ascended. It belongs to the Shoulder Pet category.

Starting at 150 Health, it's relatively fragile. Melee starts at 100% - solid damage output that scales with level-ups. Stamina sits at 150 base, providing average stamina. A base Weight of 65 means minimal inventory space.

As a tame, the Parrot works well as a reconnaissance mount, offering fast travel and a bird's-eye view of the terrain. Breeding produces fertilized eggs that hatch within a 24°C–28°C temperature window. It can be cloned at a Cloning Chamber for 0.28 Element plus 0.01 Element per level.
