To tame the Parasaur, you need to knock it unconscious first. Tranq Arrows, Tranq Darts, and Shocking Tranq Darts all work. The Parasaur loses Torpor at 0.1 per second while unconscious - stay on top of narcotics.

Check the taming results to see how long it takes to tame the Parasaur, what effectiveness you'll achieve, and how many bonus levels it gains. Better food means better results.
Below are the narcotic requirements for keeping the Parasaur sedated throughout taming. Bio Toxin is twice as potent as Narcotics (80 vs 40 Torpor per use), while Narcoberries work in a pinch at just 7.5 Torpor each. With Torpor draining at 0.1/s, don't wait until the bar is nearly empty to apply narcotics.
Track the taming process with the timers below - they monitor both Torpor and starvation progress. Torpor monitoring prevents premature wakeups. The starve timer is for the starve-tame method - let Food drop, then load all kibble at once to avoid waste.
Found throughout the ARKs, the Parasaur is a tamable, herbivore creature in ARK: Survival Ascended. It belongs to the Support category.
With 100% base Melee Damage, the Parasaur has respectable melee power. At 200 base HP, the Parasaur is relatively fragile. Its base Stamina of 450 gives it respectable staying power. It carries 480 base Weight - a solid weight pool.
Taming the Parasaur requires rendering it unconscious first - use Tranq Arrows, Darts, or Shocking Tranq Darts to apply torpor. Feed it Basic Kibble for the fastest tame and highest effectiveness bonus.
Once tamed, the Parasaur earns its keep through resource gathering, making tedious farming runs much faster. It reproduces by laying eggs, which must be incubated between 24°C and 28°C. A wild Parasaur is worth 1 base experience when killed. It can be cloned at a Cloning Chamber for 0.14 Element plus 0.01 Element per level.

Estimated time until optimal feeding point: 3m 25s
Food to consume through starvation: 341
Target food level: 4909
The table below shows how many hits from each torpor weapon are needed to knock out the Parasaur at different levels. Wait between shots for torpor to tick up. Firing too fast can kill the creature before it goes down.
To simplify the knockout, immobilize the Parasaur first with Bola or Bear Trap. Alternatively, use a Argentavis to airlift it into a pre-built trap.
