The raising calculator above shows exactly how much food you need for each maturation phase of the Parasaur. Budget ~159 minutes for the Baby phase - this is when hand-feeding or Maewing nursing is mandatory.
Raising multiple Parasaur simultaneously? Set the dino count and the calculator scales food requirements automatically. Different food types have different spoil timers - factor that into which food you stockpile.

During the Baby phase (0-10%), you must hand-feed or use a Maewing to nurse. From Juvenile (10%+), dinos can eat from a Feeding Trough on their own. Use Preserving Salt in troughs to double spoil times.
The Parasaur reproduces by laying fertilized eggs after mating. Incubation temperature must stay between 24°C and 28°C - use Air Conditioners, Standing Torches, or Dimetrodons to maintain the range. At the correct temperature, the egg hatches in approximately 1 hour and 25 minutes.
Full maturation from baby to adult takes ~1 day and 2 hours (1x rate), progressing requiring significant patience. During the baby phase (0–10%), hand-feed it directly. From 10% onward (juvenile), it can eat from a Feeding Trough.
Offspring inherit parental stats and have a small chance to mutate, gaining +2 levels in a random stat. Use the breeding calculator to plan food requirements, incubation timers, and maturation phases.
Raising a baby Parasaur involves three maturation phases: Baby (0–10%) lasts ~159 min and requires constant hand-feeding. Juvenile (10–50%) spans ~11h - it can eat from a Trough now. Adolescent (50–100%) takes ~13h - continues eating from troughs, nearly fully grown.
Imprinting during maturation provides permanent stat bonuses. At 100% imprint, the Parasaur gains 30% bonus damage and resistance when ridden by the imprinter. You'll be asked to cuddle, walk, or feed specific kibble at regular intervals during maturation.
Found throughout the ARKs, the Parasaur is a tamable, herbivore creature in ARK: Survival Ascended. It belongs to the Support category.
With 100% base Melee Damage, the Parasaur has respectable melee power. At 200 base HP, the Parasaur is relatively fragile. Its base Stamina of 450 gives it respectable staying power. It carries 480 base Weight - a solid weight pool.
Taming the Parasaur requires rendering it unconscious first - use Tranq Arrows, Darts, or Shocking Tranq Darts to apply torpor. Feed it Basic Kibble for the fastest tame and highest effectiveness bonus.
Once tamed, the Parasaur earns its keep through resource gathering, making tedious farming runs much faster. It reproduces by laying eggs, which must be incubated between 24°C and 28°C. A wild Parasaur is worth 1 base experience when killed. It can be cloned at a Cloning Chamber for 0.14 Element plus 0.01 Element per level.
