Oviraptor
The Oviraptor is a knockout tame - render it unconscious with torpor weapons like Tranq Arrows or Shocking Tranq Darts, then feed it while it's down. The Oviraptor loses Torpor at 0.21 per second while unconscious - stay on top of narcotics.

Check the taming results to see how long it takes to tame the Oviraptor, what effectiveness you'll achieve, and how many bonus levels it gains. Better food means better results.
Use the narcotic calculator to determine exactly how many Narcotics, Bio Toxin, or Narcoberries you need for the Oviraptor. Narcotics provide 40 Torpor each and are the standard choice. Bio Toxin offers 80 Torpor but is harder to farm. Narcoberries at 7.5 each are a last resort. At 0.21 Torpor drain per second, apply narcotics proactively - a wakeup mid-tame wastes everything.
Use the torpor and starve timers to track your Oviraptor tame in real time. Starve taming is recommended for valuable high-level Oviraptor: let the Food stat deplete first, then add food. This way nothing is wasted if something goes wrong.
Take a look at this short video guide on how to tame a Oviraptor.
Estimated time until optimal feeding point: 8m 21s
Food to consume through starvation: 500
Target food level: 2650
ARK: Survival Ascended features the Oviraptor as a tamable, carnivore creature that survivors will encounter in the wild. It belongs to the Farmer category.
Its base Melee Damage sits at 100%, giving it decent hitting power. The Oviraptor has 140 base Health - glass-cannon fragile. Its base Stamina of 120 gives it tires quickly. A base Weight of 100 means modest carrying capacity.
To tame the Oviraptor, you need to knock it unconscious using torpor weapons, then feed it while it's down. Extraordinary Dinosaur Egg is the most effective food for taming, offering the highest affinity per feeding.
After taming, the Oviraptor earns its keep through resource gathering, making tedious farming runs much faster. Breeding produces fertilized eggs that hatch within a 26°C–30°C temperature window. It can be cloned at a Cloning Chamber for 0.6 Element plus 0.01 Element per level.
The table below shows how many hits from each torpor weapon are needed to knock out the Oviraptor at different levels. Wait between shots for torpor to tick up. Firing too fast can kill the creature before it goes down.
To simplify the knockout, immobilize the Oviraptor first with Bola or Bear Trap. A Argentavis can also pick it up and drop it into a taming pen for a controlled knockout.
