Required Narcotics
The table shows how many sedatives you'll need to keep the Megatherium unconscious through the full taming duration. Your options are Narcotics (40 Torpor), Bio Toxin (80 Torpor, best efficiency), or Narcoberries (7.5 Torpor, cheapest but slowest). The Megatherium bleeds 0.9 Torpor/s, so keep a close eye on the bar and sedate early.
Starve & Torpor Timers
Use the torpor and starve timers to track your Megatherium tame in real time. Torpor monitoring prevents premature wakeups. The starve timer is for the starve-tame method - let Food drop, then load all kibble at once to avoid waste.
The Megatherium is a tamable, omnivore creature in ARK: Survival Ascended. Classified under the DMG group.
Melee starts at 100% - solid damage output that scales with level-ups. With 740 base Health, the Megatherium is impressively tough. Its base Stamina of 400 gives it good endurance. Weight capacity starts at 725, giving it excellent carrying capacity.
The Megatherium is a knockout tame: apply enough torpor to knock it out, then place food in its inventory. For best results, use Superior Kibble - it gives the highest taming efficiency.
As a tame, the Megatherium pulls double duty as both a capable resource harvester and pack animal. It gives live birth after a gestation period, making breeding straightforward. Defeating one in the wild grants 4 base XP. It can be cloned at a Cloning Chamber for 0.67 Element plus 0.01 Element per level.
