Planning a mass raise? The Manta raising calculator breaks down food needs per phase so nothing goes to waste. Expect ~222 minutes of active care during the Baby phase before it graduates to trough-feeding as a Juvenile.
Adjust the dino count to calculate food for multiple Manta babies at once - essential for batch breeding operations. Match your food choice to your play schedule - longer spoil timers mean less babysitting.

During the Baby phase (0-10%), you must hand-feed or use a Maewing to nurse. From Juvenile (10%+), dinos can eat from a Feeding Trough on their own. Use Preserving Salt in troughs to double spoil times.
Instead of laying eggs, the Manta carries its young through a gestation period. Gestation takes approximately 8 hours at default rates.
The baby Manta takes approximately 1 day and 13 hours to fully mature at default rates - requiring significant patience. During the baby phase (0–10%), hand-feed it directly. From 10% onward (juvenile), it can eat from a Feeding Trough.
Mutations can add +2 levels to any stat and change colors. Stacking mutations across generations is the key to min-maxed breeding lines. Use the breeding calculator to plan food requirements, incubation timers, and maturation phases.
Raising a baby Manta involves three maturation phases: Baby (0–10%) lasts ~222 min and requires constant hand-feeding. Juvenile (10–50%) spans ~15h - it can eat from a Trough now. Adolescent (50–100%) takes ~19h - continues eating from troughs, nearly fully grown.
Imprinting during maturation provides permanent stat bonuses. At 100% imprint, the Manta gains 30% bonus damage and resistance when ridden by the imprinter. You'll be asked to cuddle, walk, or feed specific kibble at regular intervals during maturation.
The Manta, a tamable, aquatic, carnivore creature in ARK: Survival Ascended, is a common sight across multiple maps.
Dealing 100% base Melee Damage, the Manta brings decent hitting power to the table. At 1,000 base HP, the Manta is quite durable. Its base Stamina of 1000 gives it outstanding staying power. Weight capacity starts at 1000, giving it an enormous weight pool.
The Manta is passively tamed - approach it carefully and feed it by hand without knocking it out. Its preferred food is AnglerGel.
Once tamed, the Manta is well-suited for deep-sea exploration, cave diving, and ocean resource runs. Breeding is via live birth rather than eggs, simplifying the process. Killing a wild Manta yields 4 base XP. It can be cloned at a Cloning Chamber for 0.21 Element plus 0.01 Element per level.
