Breeding the Ichthyornis produces fertilized eggs that require careful temperature control. Incubation temperature must stay between 29°C and 32°C - use Air Conditioners, Standing Torches, or Dimetrodons to maintain the range. At the correct temperature, the egg hatches in approximately 1 hour and 39 minutes.

After hatching or birth, the baby Ichthyornis matures requiring significant patience, reaching adulthood in about 1 day and 13 hours at 1x maturation. The most labor-intensive part is the baby phase (0–10% maturation) when it can't use a Feeding Trough yet.

Raising a baby Ichthyornis involves three maturation phases: Baby (0–10%) lasts ~222 min and requires constant hand-feeding. Juvenile (10–50%) spans ~15h - it can eat from a Trough now. Adolescent (50–100%) takes ~19h - continues eating from troughs, nearly fully grown.

Imprinting during maturation provides permanent stat bonuses. At 100% imprint, the Ichthyornis gains 30% bonus damage and resistance when ridden by the imprinter. You'll be asked to cuddle, walk, or feed specific kibble at regular intervals during maturation.

During the Baby phase (0-10%), you must hand-feed or use a Maewing to nurse. From Juvenile (10%+), dinos can eat from a Feeding Trough on their own. Use Preserving Salt in troughs to double spoil times.

The Ichthyornis is a tamable, flying, piscivore creature in ARK: Survival Ascended. It belongs to the Shoulder Pet category.

Stamina sits at 150 base, providing decent staying power. Melee starts at 100% - respectable melee power that scales with level-ups. Starting at 50 Health, it's very frail. Weight capacity starts at 55, giving it not built for hauling.

The Ichthyornis is a knockout tame: apply enough torpor to knock it out, then place food in its inventory. Feed it Regular Kibble for the fastest tame and highest effectiveness bonus.

Once tamed, the Ichthyornis is commonly used for scouting and quick travel between locations. Breeding produces fertilized eggs that hatch within a 29°C–32°C temperature window. A wild Ichthyornis is worth 3 base experience when killed. It can be cloned at a Cloning Chamber for 0.3 Element plus 0.01 Element per level.
