Hesperornis
To tame a Hesperornis, first kill a fish and then drag its body to the bird for it to eat. The fish’s size is significant in determining the number of fish needed; for instance, a fish of size 1.0x seems to be twice as effective as one of 0.5x. The fish’s level doesn’t influence the taming process. Among all fish, the Sabertooth Salmon is the most efficient, equaling around four Coels of the same size. Meanwhile, a Piranha is roughly equivalent to 2.4 Coels.
Passive taming is the method for the Hesperornis: get close without aggroing it, then offer food from your last hotbar slot. There's a ~45-second cooldown between feedings, so patience is essential.
The timer below tracks feeding intervals for your passive Hesperornis tame - it tells you exactly when the next feeding window opens.

The Hesperornis is a tamable, aquatic, piscivore creature in ARK: Survival Ascended. Classified under the Misc group.
Melee starts at 100% - solid damage output that scales with level-ups. Health-wise, the Hesperornis sits at 95 base, making it very frail. With 200 base Stamina, the Hesperornis has decent staying power. A base Weight of 70 means not built for hauling.
This is a passive tame: no tranquilizers needed. Get close without startling it, then offer food from your last hotbar slot.
As a tame, the Hesperornis is well-suited for deep-sea exploration, cave diving, and ocean resource runs. Breeding produces fertilized eggs that hatch within a 22°C–30°C temperature window. Defeating one in the wild grants 0.5 base XP. It can be cloned at a Cloning Chamber for 0.25 Element plus 0.01 Element per level.
