The raising calculator above shows exactly how much food you need for each maturation phase of the Castoroides. Expect ~370 minutes of active care during the Baby phase before it graduates to trough-feeding as a Juvenile.
The multiplier feature helps plan large-scale Castoroides raises by totaling food across all babies. Different food types have different spoil timers - factor that into which food you stockpile.

During the Baby phase (0-10%), you must hand-feed or use a Maewing to nurse. From Juvenile (10%+), dinos can eat from a Feeding Trough on their own. Use Preserving Salt in troughs to double spoil times.
The Castoroides gives live birth after mating, skipping the egg-incubation step entirely. Gestation takes approximately 8 hours at default rates.
The baby Castoroides takes approximately 2 days and 13 hours to fully mature at default rates - over a lengthy period. The most labor-intensive part is the baby phase (0–10% maturation) when it can't use a Feeding Trough yet.
Each baby inherits stats from both parents with a chance of mutation - +2 wild levels to a random stat plus a color change. Use the breeding calculator to plan food requirements, incubation timers, and maturation phases.
Raising a baby Castoroides involves three maturation phases: Baby (0–10%) lasts ~370 min and requires constant hand-feeding. Juvenile (10–50%) spans ~25h - it can eat from a Trough now. Adolescent (50–100%) takes ~31h - continues eating from troughs, nearly fully grown.
Imprinting during maturation provides permanent stat bonuses. At 100% imprint, the Castoroides gains 30% bonus damage and resistance when ridden by the imprinter. You'll be asked to cuddle, walk, or feed specific kibble at regular intervals during maturation.
The Castoroides is a tamable, herbivore creature in ARK: Survival Ascended. Classified under the Farmer group.
With 180 base Stamina, the Castoroides has decent staying power. Melee starts at 100% - solid damage output that scales with level-ups. Health-wise, the Castoroides sits at 450 base, making it reasonably durable. It carries 300 base Weight - generous inventory space.
The Castoroides is a knockout tame: apply enough torpor to knock it out, then place food in its inventory. For best results, use Superior Kibble - it gives the highest taming efficiency.
As a tame, the Castoroides earns its keep through resource gathering, making tedious farming runs much faster. It gives live birth after a gestation period, making breeding straightforward. Defeating one in the wild grants 4 base XP. It can be cloned at a Cloning Chamber for 0.84 Element plus 0.01 Element per level.
