In ARK: Survival Ascended, Basilosaurus occupies the aquatic utility niche - provides safe and efficient underwater traversal with good utility. It is a carnivore tamed through passive taming, with Exceptional Kibble as its top-tier food, and brings 2,400 base Health - a proper tank to the table. It gives live birth after a gestation period, with offspring maturing over an extremely long period, one of the longest in the game. Survivors lean on it to gather Hide, Raw Prime Meat, Oil at much higher rates than hand tools. That combination of survivability and damage is why Basilosaurus sits on most endgame mount shortlists.
