Archaeopteryx Egg & Breeding Calculator

Breeding the Archaeopteryx produces fertilized eggs that require careful temperature control. Incubation temperature must stay between 16°C and 20°C - use Air Conditioners, Standing Torches, or Dimetrodons to maintain the range. At the correct temperature, the egg hatches in approximately 2 hours and 37 minutes.

After hatching or birth, the baby Archaeopteryx matures at a medium pace, reaching adulthood in about 15 hours and 25 minutes at 1x maturation. The most labor-intensive part is the baby phase (0–10% maturation) when it can't use a Feeding Trough yet.

Offspring inherit parental stats and have a small chance to mutate, gaining +2 levels in a random stat. Use the breeding calculator to plan food requirements, incubation timers, and maturation phases.

The hatched dinosaur, now a baby, needs constant attention and food placed directly in its inventory to survive, or a nearby Maewing to take care of its needs.

3:05:11
The dinosaur reaches the juvenile stage, where it can now eat from a feeding trough, reducing the need for direct feeding.
Adolescent
50% - 100%
3:51:28
The dinosaur reaches the adolescent stage, becoming more independent and able to follow you while continuing to grow toward full maturity.

Maturation has three phases: Baby (0–10%) lasts ~93 min and requires constant hand-feeding. Juvenile (10–50%) spans ~6h - it can eat from a Trough now. Adolescent (50–100%) takes ~8h - continues eating from troughs, nearly fully grown.

Imprint bonuses are significant: a fully imprinted Archaeopteryx gains 30% extra damage and damage resistance with its imprinter mounted. You'll be asked to cuddle, walk, or feed specific kibble at regular intervals during maturation.

Planning a mass raise? The Archaeopteryx raising calculator breaks down food needs per phase so nothing goes to waste. The Baby phase (0–10%) takes ~93 minutes and is the most hands-on, requiring direct feeding or a Maewing.

Raising multiple Archaeopteryx simultaneously? Set the dino count and the calculator scales food requirements automatically. Match your food choice to your play schedule - longer spoil timers mean less babysitting.

During the Baby phase (0-10%), you must hand-feed or use a Maewing to nurse. From Juvenile (10%+), dinos can eat from a Feeding Trough on their own. Use Preserving Salt in troughs to double spoil times.

The Archaeopteryx, a tamable, unknown creature in ARK: Survival Ascended, is a common sight across multiple maps. It falls within the Shoulder Pet classification.

With 150 base Stamina, the Archaeopteryx has moderate endurance. Dealing 100% base Melee Damage, the Archaeopteryx brings respectable melee power to the table. At 125 base HP, the Archaeopteryx is extremely fragile. Weight capacity starts at 30, giving it not built for hauling.

You'll need to knock the Archaeopteryx unconscious before taming it. Tranquilizers are the standard approach. Feed it Simple Kibble for the fastest tame and highest effectiveness bonus.

Once tamed, the Archaeopteryx is primarily used for resource harvesting, excelling at gathering specific materials. It reproduces by laying eggs, which must be incubated between 16°C and 20°C. Killing a wild Archaeopteryx yields 0.5 base XP. It can be cloned at a Cloning Chamber for 0.13 Element plus 0.01 Element per level.
