The Aberrant Ovis gives live birth after mating, skipping the egg-incubation step entirely. Gestation takes approximately 4 hours and 12 minutes at default rates.

Full maturation from baby to adult takes ~2 days (1x rate), progressing slowly. Hand-feeding is required until 10% maturation. After that, a Feeding Trough handles the rest.

Each baby inherits stats from both parents with a chance of mutation - +2 wild levels to a random stat plus a color change. Use the breeding calculator to plan food requirements, incubation timers, and maturation phases.

Raising a baby Aberrant Ovis involves three maturation phases: Baby (0–10%) lasts ~292 min and requires constant hand-feeding. Juvenile (10–50%) spans ~19h - it can eat from a Trough now. Adolescent (50–100%) takes ~24h - continues eating from troughs, nearly fully grown.

Imprinting during maturation provides permanent stat bonuses. At 100% imprint, the Aberrant Ovis gains 30% bonus damage and resistance when ridden by the imprinter. You'll be asked to cuddle, walk, or feed specific kibble at regular intervals during maturation.

During the Baby phase (0-10%), you must hand-feed or use a Maewing to nurse. From Juvenile (10%+), dinos can eat from a Feeding Trough on their own. Use Preserving Salt in troughs to double spoil times.

The Aberrant Ovis is a tamable, herbivore creature in ARK: Survival Ascended. It belongs to the Variant category.

Stamina sits at 100 base, providing tires quickly. Melee starts at 106% - decent hitting power that scales with level-ups. The Aberrant Ovis has 96 base Health - extremely fragile. Weight capacity starts at 90, giving it not built for hauling.

Taming the Aberrant Ovis doesn't require unconsciousness. Instead, sneak up to it and hand-feed its preferred food. Its preferred food is Sweet Vegetable Cake.

After taming, the Aberrant Ovis earns its keep through resource gathering, making tedious farming runs much faster. It gives live birth after a gestation period, making breeding straightforward. Defeating one in the wild grants 1 base XP. It can be cloned at a Cloning Chamber for 0.79 Element plus 0.01 Element per level.
