The Aberrant Manta is a rare aquatic carnivore variant found in cave systems and fertile zones. It is tamed passively using AnglerGel, making it a unique gatherer for underwater resources. Players typically tame it to harvest Raw Fish Meat efficiently while swimming in deep or enclosed areas.
It can be airlifted by Quetzal or Karkinos for fast deployment to remote underwater sites.
The Aberrant Manta spawns in cave and fertile zone biomes across 10 ARK maps. It is considered rare, with low spawn abundance. The green zones on the spawn map indicate the highest density areas for locating this elusive creature.

Killing an Aberrant Manta yields Raw Fish Meat. The Pick is the best tool for maximizing quantity when harvesting from the corpse.
Estimates based on game-extracted data (weights, quantities, harvest multipliers, damage type chains). Each harvest event independently rolls each resource - higher weight = higher drop chance. Actual yields vary with RNG.
The Aberrant Manta has a strong vulnerability to Instant HurtDinos, taking +120% more damage. It is also highly weak to Spike Wall traps and melee attacks that deal Metal Raid Dino damage, suffering +55% extra damage. Avoid using it in spike-heavy defenses or against metal-based melee attackers.
