Aberrant Diplocaulus Egg & Breeding Calculator

After a successful mate, the Aberrant Diplocaulus lays a fertilized egg. Incubation temperature must stay between -75°C and 75°C - use Air Conditioners, Standing Torches, or Dimetrodons to maintain the range. At the correct temperature, the egg hatches in approximately 4 hours and 59 minutes.

Full maturation from baby to adult takes ~1 day and 13 hours (1x rate), progressing requiring significant patience. Hand-feeding is required until 10% maturation. After that, a Feeding Trough handles the rest.

Each baby inherits stats from both parents with a chance of mutation - +2 wild levels to a random stat plus a color change. Use the breeding calculator to plan food requirements, incubation timers, and maturation phases.

The dino is inside an egg, needing specific conditions to incubate and hatch. The ideal temperature range is -75 - 75 °C.

3:42:13
The hatched dinosaur, now a baby, needs constant attention and food placed directly in its inventory to survive, or a nearby Maewing to take care of its needs.
Juvenile
10% - 50%
14:48:53
The dinosaur reaches the juvenile stage, where it can now eat from a feeding trough, reducing the need for direct feeding.
Adolescent
50% - 100%
18:31:06
The dinosaur reaches the adolescent stage, becoming more independent and able to follow you while continuing to grow toward full maturity.

The Aberrant Diplocaulus's growth progresses through three stages: Baby (0–10%) lasts ~222 min and requires constant hand-feeding. Juvenile (10–50%) spans ~15h - it can eat from a Trough now. Adolescent (50–100%) takes ~19h - continues eating from troughs, nearly fully grown.

Imprint bonuses are significant: a fully imprinted Aberrant Diplocaulus gains 30% extra damage and damage resistance with its imprinter mounted. Imprint requests include cuddling, walks, and specific kibble - check the wiki for which kibble to stockpile.

The raising calculator above shows exactly how much food you need for each maturation phase of the Aberrant Diplocaulus. Expect ~222 minutes of active care during the Baby phase before it graduates to trough-feeding as a Juvenile.

The multiplier feature helps plan large-scale Aberrant Diplocaulus raises by totaling food across all babies. Different food types have different spoil timers - factor that into which food you stockpile.

During the Baby phase (0-10%), you must hand-feed or use a Maewing to nurse. From Juvenile (10%+), dinos can eat from a Feeding Trough on their own. Use Preserving Salt in troughs to double spoil times.

ARK: Survival Ascended features the Aberrant Diplocaulus as a tamable, carnivore creature that survivors will encounter in the wild. Classified under the Variant group.

Its base Melee Damage sits at 106%, giving it respectable melee power. At 240 base HP, the Aberrant Diplocaulus is on the squishy side. Stamina sits at 165 base, providing average stamina. A base Weight of 150 means modest carrying capacity.

To tame the Aberrant Diplocaulus, you need to knock it unconscious using torpor weapons, then feed it while it's down. Feed it Simple Kibble for the fastest tame and highest effectiveness bonus.

Once tamed, the Aberrant Diplocaulus is valued for its harvesting efficiency, collecting key resources faster than most tools. Breeding produces fertilized eggs that hatch within a -75°C–75°C temperature window. It can be cloned at a Cloning Chamber for 0.4 Element plus 0.01 Element per level.
