ARK: Survival Ascended features the Aberrant Anglerfish as a tamable, carnivore creature that survivors will encounter in the wild. It belongs to the Variant category.
Its base Stamina of 240 gives it decent staying power. Its base Melee Damage sits at 106%, giving it decent hitting power. Health-wise, the Aberrant Anglerfish sits at 432 base, making it reasonably durable. It carries 350 base Weight - a solid weight pool.
To tame the Aberrant Anglerfish, you need to knock it unconscious using torpor weapons, then feed it while it's down. Regular Kibble is the most effective food for taming, offering the highest affinity per feeding.
After taming, the Aberrant Anglerfish earns its keep through resource gathering, making tedious farming runs much faster. Breeding produces fertilized eggs that hatch within a -75°C–75°C temperature window. Defeating one in the wild grants 8 base XP. It can be cloned at a Cloning Chamber for 0.17 Element plus 0.01 Element per level.
