2. 雙鰭：

與眾不同的是，這個物種的雙鰭是軟骨的延伸。它們不容易受到傷害，同時提供了優越的推進力，但也很難恢復。事實上，亮藍色的尖端是消化道的末端，牠吃下的珊瑚在那個部位發光最為集中。
