这些根系通常从一个洞穴壁延伸到另一个洞穴壁。 1.盘根系统： 当这个根系突破至开放的水域，它的卷须缠绕在一起，以增强结构的完整性。 2.洞壁生根： 当根与洞穴壁相遇时，它会穿透岩石以较慢的速度继续生长。 血藻根和血藤都会产生血油脓疱，这证实了它们实际上是同一种植物。大部分根系生长在岩石内部，偶尔会突破至开阔的水域，以获取未开发的矿产资源，或生成以水为基础的营养素为食的藤本植物。
