When a Gnawer fails to digest the biological tissue it consumes, its host develops into a Gasbag. It can be identified by its swollen abdomen, which repeatedly splits open and heals like a container stretched beyond its limit.
Gasbags move slowly, but their bodies are filled with highly pressurized corrosive fluid. Any injury - or their eventual death - can cause them to burst violently, scattering accumulated Stardust and corrosive tissue in every direction.
