Humans are by no means the only victims of the Starfall, but insects must be among the greatest beneficiaries.
Certain insects, after becoming infected with Stardust, have managed to evolve into fully-fledged Deviations in an incredibly short time span. These once tiny and insignificant bugs now have wings the size of car doors, armor as tough as steel plating, and give off a sinister bluey-purple fluorescence.
This fluorescence indicates a high concentration of Stardust and wards off potential predators.
In this world, Swarms are the harbingers of doom.
Most insects flap their wings so fast that they are imperceptible to human hearing, but that rule doesn't really apply when you're dealing with a giant bug like this one. The sound of a flying Swarm is almost deafening, and induces a sense of sickening dread in anyone who hears it.
They tend to move in large packs, are highly adapted to a Stardust-rich environment, and are so large that they are now directly competing with humans for living space. Sounds like the end of the world, alright.
