Breeding the X-TAPEJARA produces fertilized eggs that require careful temperature control. Incubation temperature must stay between 29°C and 32°C - use Air Conditioners, Standing Torches, or Dimetrodons to maintain the range. At the correct temperature, the egg hatches in approximately 1 hour and 39 minutes.
The baby X-TAPEJARA takes approximately 2 days and 6 hours to fully mature at default rates - over a lengthy period. The most labor-intensive part is the baby phase (0–10% maturation) when it can't use a Feeding Trough yet.
Each baby inherits stats from both parents with a chance of mutation - +2 wild levels to a random stat plus a color change. Use the breeding calculator to plan food requirements, incubation timers, and maturation phases.
The X-TAPEJARA's growth progresses through three stages: Baby (0–10%) lasts ~327 min and requires constant hand-feeding. Juvenile (10–50%) spans ~22h - it can eat from a Trough now. Adolescent (50–100%) takes ~27h - continues eating from troughs, nearly fully grown.
Imprinting during maturation provides permanent stat bonuses. At 100% imprint, the X-TAPEJARA gains 30% bonus damage and resistance when ridden by the imprinter. Keep various kibble types on hand, as imprint requests are randomized between cuddles, walks, and kibble feeding.
The raising calculator above shows exactly how much food you need for each maturation phase of the X-TAPEJARA. Expect ~327 minutes of active care during the Baby phase before it graduates to trough-feeding as a Juvenile.
The multiplier feature helps plan large-scale X-TAPEJARA raises by totaling food across all babies. Different food types have different spoil timers - factor that into which food you stockpile.
The X-TAPEJARA, a tamable, flying, carnivore creature in ARK: Survival Ascended, is a common sight across multiple maps. It belongs to the Variant category.
With 250 base Stamina, the X-TAPEJARA has average stamina. Dealing 105% base Melee Damage, the X-TAPEJARA brings respectable melee power to the table. The X-TAPEJARA has 315 base Health - reasonably durable. It carries 280 base Weight - a solid weight pool.
You'll need to knock the X-TAPEJARA unconscious before taming it. Tranquilizers are the standard approach. Feed it Superior Kibble for the fastest tame and highest effectiveness bonus.
Once tamed, the X-TAPEJARA works well as a reconnaissance mount, offering fast travel and a bird's-eye view of the terrain. It reproduces by laying eggs, which must be incubated between 29°C and 32°C. Defeating one in the wild grants 3 base XP. It can be cloned at a Cloning Chamber for 0.67 Element plus 0.01 Element per level.
