Found throughout the ARKs, the Gier is a tamable, carnivore creature in ARK: Survival Ascended. It belongs to the Shoulder Pet category.

Stamina sits at 150 base, providing moderate endurance. With 100% base Melee Damage, the Gier has decent hitting power. Health-wise, the Gier sits at 125 base, making it very frail. A base Weight of 50 means not built for hauling.

The Gier is passively tamed - approach it carefully and feed it by hand without knocking it out. Its preferred food is Spoiled Meat.

Once tamed, the Gier is primarily used for resource harvesting, excelling at gathering specific materials. It reproduces by laying eggs, which must be incubated between 35°C and 38°C. Defeating one in the wild grants 3 base XP. It can be cloned at a Cloning Chamber for 0.32 Element plus 0.01 Element per level.
