How to reach

Every mission ends with a boss drawn at random, with equal odds, from the four Cryptic bosses, so the Cryptic Train can turn up on any map and at any difficulty: Far West, Canyon and Desert, plus Area 41, Woodlands, Far Far North, Jungle, Hellfire and Redwood once unlocked. Each mission on offer shows its boss's name and icon, so pick one that shows the Cryptic Train. 1. Complete the mission's main objective. The game then says "Objective complete! Head to the boss spawner". 2. The boss lair is placed at a random spot at least 220 m from the arrival point and from the main objective. The train extraction is at least 200 m away from the lair. 3. At the boss spawner in the lair, use "Insert key". Before the main objective is done it only says "You need a Cryptic Key", and every player has to be within about 41 m ("Everyone must be at the boss spawner!"). 4. A Cryptic dome closes over the lair, extra Cryptic enemies keep coming and the Cryptic Train is summoned. The lair holds 7 ammo boxes and 9 healing bottles. When the boss dies the dome drops; then head for the Train Extraction.
