Sabertooth
To tame the Sabertooth, you need to knock it unconscious first. Tranq Arrows, Tranq Darts, and Shocking Tranq Darts all work. Torpor bleeds at 0.1/s, requiring regular sedative application to prevent a premature wakeup.

Use the calculator results to plan your tame - they show the exact time, food quantity, and bonus levels for the Sabertooth based on your settings.
Use the narcotic calculator to determine exactly how many Narcotics, Bio Toxin, or Narcoberries you need for the Sabertooth. Narcotics provide 40 Torpor each and are the standard choice. Bio Toxin offers 80 Torpor but is harder to farm. Narcoberries at 7.5 each are a last resort. At 0.1 Torpor drain per second, apply narcotics proactively - a wakeup mid-tame wastes everything.
Track the taming process with the timers below - they monitor both Torpor and starvation progress. The torpor timer alerts you when narcotics are needed. The starve timer tracks Food depletion for starve-taming, where you let the food bar drop before placing all food at once.
The table below shows how many hits from each torpor weapon are needed to knock out the Sabertooth at different levels. Always pace your shots. Torpor takes time to apply, and over-shooting can be lethal.
To simplify the knockout, immobilize the Sabertooth first with Bola or Bear Trap. Alternatively, use a Karkinos to airlift it into a pre-built trap.

Found throughout the ARKs, the Sabertooth is a tamable, carnivore creature in ARK: Survival Ascended. It belongs to the Misc category.
Its base Stamina of 200 gives it average stamina. Dealing 100% base Melee Damage, the Sabertooth brings decent hitting power to the table. At 250 base HP, the Sabertooth is relatively fragile. Weight capacity starts at 200, giving it a reasonable inventory size.
Taming the Sabertooth requires rendering it unconscious first - use Tranq Arrows, Darts, or Shocking Tranq Darts to apply torpor. Regular Kibble is the most effective food for taming, offering the highest affinity per feeding.
After taming, the Sabertooth is valued for its harvesting efficiency, collecting key resources faster than most tools. Breeding is via live birth rather than eggs, simplifying the process. Defeating one in the wild grants 5 base XP. It can be cloned at a Cloning Chamber for 0.48 Element plus 0.01 Element per level.
