Variant
The X-Yutyrannus is a carnivorous dinosaur variant from Genesis: Part 1, modified with -3% Health and +5% Melee Damage compared to the base Yutyrannus. It features the Fear & Courage Roar ability, which can debuff nearby enemies or buff allies depending on activation. This makes it useful for frontline combat support in PvE or PvP encounters where aura effects influence battle dynamics. It can be airlifted by Tusoteuthis for rapid deployment.
The X-Yutyrannus is primarily tamed for its combat utility and aura-based battlefield control rather than gathering or transport roles.
X-Yutyrannus does not currently spawn on any ARK: Survival Ascended map, or spawn data is not yet available.
X-Yutyrannus must be knocked out before taming. Use a Chain Bola, Bear Trap, or Large Bear Trap to immobilize it initially. Then, shoot it with Tranq Arrows from a Bow or Crossbow, or use a Longneck Rifle with Tranquilizer Darts to induce torpor. The best food is Extraordinary Kibble, which provides the fastest taming. Raw Mutton also works if kibble is unavailable.
The taming process takes around 68 minutes at level 223 using 20 units of Extraordinary Kibble, with no Narcotics needed. Use the calculator below for your settings.

Killing an X-Yutyrannus yields Yutyrannus Lungs, Pelt, Raw Meat, and Raw Prime Meat. The Hatchet harvests the most Pelt, while the Pick maximizes Raw Meat yield. Dino-optimized tools like the Dino (Prime) are best for obtaining Raw Prime Meat.
Estimates based on game-extracted data (weights, quantities, harvest multipliers, damage type chains). Each harvest event independently rolls each resource - higher weight = higher drop chance. Actual yields vary with RNG.
X-Yutyrannus has a critical weakness to spike walls, taking +400% damage, making it highly vulnerable in defensive perimeters featuring such traps. It also takes +120% damage from Instant HurtDinos and +55% more from metal melee attacks. Conversely, it is fully immune to Mining Drill Harvest damage and takes 50% less from projectile-based attacks with impact effects. Level Health and Melee Damage to maximize survivability and output.

The head has a 1.5× damage multiplier, making headshots more effective for faster knockouts. Focus on the head zone when sedating to reduce total torpor time.

The Fear & Courage Roar ability activates a 20-second buff or debuff with a long cooldown, influencing allies and enemies within range. The CourageToFollowers effect boosts nearby tamed creatures within 50 meters every 25 seconds. It takes +400% damage from spike walls, so avoid placing it in such defenses. It is immune to Mining Drill Harvest damage, making it safe near automated mining systems. It can be carried by Tusoteuthis, enabling aerial transport across vast distances.
