X-Yutyrannus
To tame the X-Yutyrannus, you need to knock it unconscious first. Tranq Arrows, Tranq Darts, and Shocking Tranq Darts all work. Torpor bleeds at 0.73/s, requiring regular sedative application to prevent a premature wakeup.

Use the calculator results to plan your tame - they show the exact time, food quantity, and bonus levels for the X-Yutyrannus based on your settings.
Use the narcotic calculator to determine exactly how many Narcotics, Bio Toxin, or Narcoberries you need for the X-Yutyrannus. Your options are Narcotics (40 Torpor), Bio Toxin (80 Torpor, best efficiency), or Narcoberries (7.5 Torpor, cheapest but slowest). With Torpor draining at 0.73/s, don't wait until the bar is nearly empty to apply narcotics.
The real-time timers below help you monitor Torpor drain and Food depletion during the tame. The torpor timer alerts you when narcotics are needed. The starve timer tracks Food depletion for starve-taming, where you let the food bar drop before placing all food at once.
Estimated time until optimal feeding point: 1h 8m 12s
Food to consume through starvation: 1705
Target food level: 8795
The X-Yutyrannus, a tamable, carnivore creature in ARK: Survival Ascended, is a common sight across multiple maps. It belongs to the Variant category.
Its base Stamina of 420 gives it respectable staying power. Dealing 105% base Melee Damage, the X-Yutyrannus brings decent hitting power to the table. Starting at 1,067 Health, it's solidly tanky. A base Weight of 500 means an enormous weight pool.
You'll need to knock the X-Yutyrannus unconscious before taming it. Tranquilizers are the standard approach. For best results, use Extraordinary Kibble - it gives the highest taming efficiency.
Once tamed, the X-Yutyrannus earns its keep through resource gathering, making tedious farming runs much faster. It reproduces by laying eggs, which must be incubated between 32°C and 34°C. A wild X-Yutyrannus is worth 30 base experience when killed. It can be cloned at a Cloning Chamber for 0.94 Element plus 0.01 Element per level.
The table below shows how many hits from each torpor weapon are needed to knock out the X-Yutyrannus at different levels. Wait between shots for torpor to tick up. Firing too fast can kill the creature before it goes down.
To simplify the knockout, immobilize the X-Yutyrannus first with Chain Bola or Bear Trap. Alternatively, use a Procoptodon to airlift it into a pre-built trap.
