X-Triceratops

Variant

Overview

The X-Triceratops is a large herbivorous variant of the Triceratops. It functions primarily as a mobile resource gatherer with its ability to harvest a wide range of materials while ridden. It can be airlifted by Quetzal or Tusoteuthis for rapid deployment across long distances.

Players typically tame it to streamline gathering operations on foot or in mid-tier base raids where weight efficiency matters.

X-Triceratops must be knocked out before taming. Use a Chain Bola, Bear Trap, or Large Bear Trap to immobilize it first. Then use ranged weapons like the Bow, Crossbow, or Fabricated Sniper Rifle with Tranq Arrow or Tranquilizer Dart to induce torpor.

Feed it Simple Kibble for the fastest taming. About 16 pieces are needed at level 150 under Official rates. The process takes around 20 minutes with no Narcotics required. Use the calculator below for your settings.

Estimates based on game-extracted data (weights, quantities, harvest multipliers, damage type chains). Each harvest event independently rolls each resource - higher weight = higher drop chance. Actual yields vary with RNG.

Damage Resistances

X-Triceratops takes +120% more damage from Instant HurtDinos and +100% more from spike walls, making it highly vulnerable in defensive perimeters. It is -60% resistant to fire damage, reducing effectiveness of flame-based weapons. Melee attacks with impact effects deal 50% less damage.
