Taming the X-Argentavis requires applying enough torpor to knock it out. Use tranquilizer projectiles, then place food in its inventory. Once unconscious, Torpor drains at 0.1/s, so keep Narcotics or Bio Toxin ready.

Required Narcotics
Use the narcotic calculator to determine exactly how many Narcotics, Bio Toxin, or Narcoberries you need for the X-Argentavis. Your options are Narcotics (40 Torpor), Bio Toxin (80 Torpor, best efficiency), or Narcoberries (7.5 Torpor, cheapest but slowest). With Torpor draining at 0.1/s, don't wait until the bar is nearly empty to apply narcotics.
Starve & Torpor Timers
Use the torpor and starve timers to track your X-Argentavis tame in real time. Starve taming is recommended for valuable high-level X-Argentavis: let the Food stat deplete first, then add food. This way nothing is wasted if something goes wrong.
Found throughout the ARKs, the X-Argentavis is a tamable, flying, carnivore creature in ARK: Survival Ascended. It falls within the Variant classification.
Dealing 105% base Melee Damage, the X-Argentavis brings decent hitting power to the table. With 354 base Health, the X-Argentavis is decently sturdy. With 400 base Stamina, the X-Argentavis has solid stamina reserves. Weight capacity starts at 400, giving it generous inventory space.
Taming the X-Argentavis requires rendering it unconscious first - use Tranq Arrows, Darts, or Shocking Tranq Darts to apply torpor. For best results, use Superior Kibble - it gives the highest taming efficiency.
Once tamed, the X-Argentavis works well as a reconnaissance mount, offering fast travel and a bird's-eye view of the terrain. It reproduces by laying eggs, which must be incubated between 12°C and 13.5°C. A wild X-Argentavis is worth 7 base experience when killed. It can be cloned at a Cloning Chamber for 0.68 Element plus 0.01 Element per level.
