Voidwyrm is a flying carnivore with a special passive taming mechanic. It reduces the weight of several key resources while providing strong structural damage capability. The creature excels in resource gathering and base assault roles due to its unique harvest abilities and flight. It can be airlifted by Quetzal or Karkinos for fast deployment.
Voidwyrm does not currently spawn on any ARK: Survival Ascended map, or spawn data is not yet available.
Taming a Voidwyrm requires reducing its health to 10%, then mounting it and performing a barrel roll while Mutagen is in the final hotbar slot. This special passive method does not require knockout or traditional taming food. Approximately 31 Mutagen are needed, with a taming time of about 4 minutes. Use the calculator below for your settings.
To tame a Voidwyrm, reduce its health to 10%, then mount it. Place Mutagen in your final hotbar slot and execute a barrel roll to feed it the Mutagen.
Killing a Voidwyrm yields Scrap Metal, Electronics, Oil, and Element Dust. The Pick is the best tool for maximizing yield of all these resources.
Estimates based on game-extracted data (weights, quantities, harvest multipliers, damage type chains). Each harvest event independently rolls each resource - higher weight = higher drop chance. Actual yields vary with RNG.
The Voidwyrm gathers resources through its Taunt and BuckFeedResponse attacks, both yielding high quantities of plant-based materials. It harvests 10× Berries, Seeds, Mushrooms, Rare Flower, Rare Mushroom, and Wood. Cactus Sap and Fiber are gathered at 8× efficiency. This makes it ideal for rapid botanical farming and seed collection.
Voidwyrms take +400% more damage from spike walls, making them extremely vulnerable in defensive perimeters. They also suffer +120% from instant damage sources and +55% from metal melee attacks. Conversely, they are fully immune to mining drill harvest damage and take 50% less from projectile impacts and small turrets. Level Health and Melee Damage.

Official servers use non-1× defaults; the values above already reflect official rates.

The head has a 1.5× damage multiplier, making it the optimal target zone for efficient knockout or combat.

Numbers reflect base melee at level 1, 100% TE, no imprint. The damage calculator lets you scale by melee %, server multipliers, and pick a specific structure for exact hit counts.
The Taunt ability gathers 10× Berries, Seeds, Mushrooms, Rare Flower, Rare Mushroom, and Wood.
Cactus Sap and Fiber are harvested at 8× efficiency via Taunt and BuckFeedResponse.
It takes +400% damage from spike walls, making placement near such defenses highly effective.
When carried by Quetzal or Karkinos, its weight reduction remains active during flight.
The Flame attack has a 50m range and can target distant structures or creatures.
