After hatching or birth, the baby Veilwyn matures slowly, reaching adulthood in about 1 day and 22 hours at 1x maturation. The most labor-intensive part is the baby phase (0–10% maturation) when it can't use a Feeding Trough yet.

Raising a baby Veilwyn involves three maturation phases: Baby (0–10%) lasts ~278 min and requires constant hand-feeding. Juvenile (10–50%) spans ~19h - it can eat from a Trough now. Adolescent (50–100%) takes ~23h - continues eating from troughs, nearly fully grown.

Imprinting during maturation provides permanent stat bonuses. At 100% imprint, the Veilwyn gains 30% bonus damage and resistance when ridden by the imprinter. You'll be asked to cuddle, walk, or feed specific kibble at regular intervals during maturation.

During the Baby phase (0-10%), you must hand-feed or use a Maewing to nurse. From Juvenile (10%+), dinos can eat from a Feeding Trough on their own. Use Preserving Salt in troughs to double spoil times.

The Veilwyn is a tamable, carnivore creature in ARK: Survival Ascended. It belongs to the Shoulder Pet category.

Melee starts at 100% - decent hitting power that scales with level-ups. At 200 base HP, the Veilwyn is on the squishy side. Its base Stamina of 260 gives it decent staying power. It carries 200 base Weight - a reasonable inventory size.

After taming, the Veilwyn earns its keep through resource gathering, making tedious farming runs much faster. It gives live birth after a gestation period, making breeding straightforward. Defeating one in the wild grants 18 base XP. It can be cloned at a Cloning Chamber for 0.04 Element plus 0.01 Element per level.
