Tidepup Egg & Breeding Calculator

After a successful mate, the Tidepup lays a fertilized egg. Incubation temperature must stay between -75°C and 75°C - use Air Conditioners, Standing Torches, or Dimetrodons to maintain the range. At the correct temperature, the egg hatches in approximately 4 hours and 59 minutes.

After hatching or birth, the baby Tidepup matures slowly, reaching adulthood in about 1 day and 13 hours at 1x maturation. Hand-feeding is required until 10% maturation. After that, a Feeding Trough handles the rest.

Mutations can add +2 levels to any stat and change colors. Stacking mutations across generations is the key to min-maxed breeding lines. Use the breeding calculator to plan food requirements, incubation timers, and maturation phases.

The dino is inside an egg, needing specific conditions to incubate and hatch. The ideal temperature range is -75 - 75 °C.

1:51:06
The hatched dinosaur, now a baby, needs constant attention and food placed directly in its inventory to survive, or a nearby Maewing to take care of its needs.
Juvenile
10% - 50%
7:24:26
The dinosaur reaches the juvenile stage, where it can now eat from a feeding trough, reducing the need for direct feeding.
Adolescent
50% - 100%
9:15:33
The dinosaur reaches the adolescent stage, becoming more independent and able to follow you while continuing to grow toward full maturity.

The Tidepup's growth progresses through three stages: Baby (0–10%) lasts ~222 min and requires constant hand-feeding. Juvenile (10–50%) spans ~15h - it can eat from a Trough now. Adolescent (50–100%) takes ~19h - continues eating from troughs, nearly fully grown.

Imprinting during maturation provides permanent stat bonuses. At 100% imprint, the Tidepup gains 30% bonus damage and resistance when ridden by the imprinter. Keep various kibble types on hand, as imprint requests are randomized between cuddles, walks, and kibble feeding.

Planning a mass raise? The Tidepup raising calculator breaks down food needs per phase so nothing goes to waste. The Baby phase (0–10%) takes ~222 minutes and is the most hands-on, requiring direct feeding or a Maewing.

Raising multiple Tidepup simultaneously? Set the dino count and the calculator scales food requirements automatically. Match your food choice to your play schedule - longer spoil timers mean less babysitting.

During the Baby phase (0-10%), you must hand-feed or use a Maewing to nurse. From Juvenile (10%+), dinos can eat from a Feeding Trough on their own. Use Preserving Salt in troughs to double spoil times.

The Tidepup, a tamable, carnivore creature in ARK: Survival Ascended, is a common sight across multiple maps.

With 100 base Stamina, the Tidepup has low stamina reserves. With 100% base Melee Damage, the Tidepup has decent hitting power. Starting at 100 Health, it's extremely fragile. Weight capacity starts at 150, giving it a reasonable inventory size.

The Tidepup is passively tamed - approach it carefully and feed it by hand without knocking it out. Its preferred food is Regular Kibble.

Once tamed, the Tidepup is valued for its harvesting efficiency, collecting key resources faster than most tools. It reproduces by laying eggs, which must be incubated between -75°C and 75°C. It can be cloned at a Cloning Chamber for 0.5 Element plus 0.01 Element per level.
