Sinomacrops Taming Calculator

A Sinomacrops comes to you rather than the other way round. Stand in the open on flat ground with Chitin in your last hotbar slot, which is the only thing it eats, and wait: it will only take food once it has landed and picked you out. Nothing can be overhead, for you or for it, so no roof, cave, tent or platform saddle, and being under cover does not just block the feed, it makes the creature turn on you. After each feed it flies off, so follow it and wait for the hearts before offering the next one. Leave longer than fifteen minutes between feeds and it starts giving progress back.

Passive taming is the method for the Sinomacrops: get close without aggroing it, then offer food from your last hotbar slot.

Starve & Torpor Timers

The timer below tracks feeding intervals for your passive Sinomacrops tame - it tells you exactly when the next feeding window opens.

ARK: Survival Ascended features the Sinomacrops as a tamable, flying, unknown creature that survivors will encounter in the wild. It falls within the Shoulder Pet classification.

Health-wise, the Sinomacrops sits at 110 base, making it glass-cannon fragile. Its base Melee Damage sits at 100%, giving it solid damage output. With 150 base Stamina, the Sinomacrops has moderate endurance. A base Weight of 80 means very limited carrying capacity.

Taming the Sinomacrops doesn't require unconsciousness. Instead, sneak up to it and hand-feed its preferred food. Its preferred food is Chitin.

After taming, the Sinomacrops is a versatile flyer useful for scouting, traversal, and light transport. Breeding produces fertilized eggs that hatch within a 38°C–40°C temperature window. It can be cloned at a Cloning Chamber for 0.28 Element plus 0.01 Element per level.
