Sinomacrops

Shoulder Pet

Overview

Sinomacrops is a small flying carnivore tamed as a shoulder pet. It provides significant weight reduction for inventory resources, making it ideal for long-distance resource transport. The creature can be airlifted by Quetzal or Karkinos for fast deployment.

Tamed passively by feeding, it does not require knockout or traps. Its compact size and flight allow for easy handling and mobility in tight spaces.

Spawn Locations

Sinomacrops does not currently spawn on any ARK: Survival Ascended map, or spawn data is not yet available.

Sinomacrops is tamed passively by feeding it Chitin. No alternative foods provide meaningful affinity gain. Place the Chitin in your inventory and approach slowly while unmounted to avoid aggro. The tame takes about 30 Chitin and lasts around 16 minutes with no Narcotics needed. Use the calculator below for your settings.

Estimates based on game-extracted data (weights, quantities, harvest multipliers, damage type chains). Each harvest event independently rolls each resource - higher weight = higher drop chance. Actual yields vary with RNG.

Damage Resistances

Sinomacrops is weak to Instant HurtDinos, taking +120% damage, making it vulnerable in dino-on-dino combat. It resists Mining Drill Harvest completely, taking -100% damage from mining drills. Melee attacks with metal weapons exploit a +55% weakness. Explosions are also highly effective, dealing +50% damage. Resist Ranged Turrets and projectile-based attacks, which are only 50% as effective. Level Health and Melee Damage.

Sinomacrops Tips & Tricks

Reduces inventory weight for Chitin, Keratin, and Sulfur by 80%. This makes it ideal for extended chitin farming runs.

Can be carried by Quetzal and Karkinos, enabling fast aerial transport without losing weight reduction benefits.

Takes +120% damage from dino-based attacks, so keep it out of combat situations.

Resists damage from mining drills completely, though this offers little practical benefit in most scenarios.

Incubate eggs between 38°C and 40°C for reliable hatching. Use air conditioning to maintain stable temperatures.
