Sarco is a large carnivorous water creature. It excels at underwater combat and can quickly close distances with its Lunge attack. This makes it ideal for hunting aquatic threats and defending underwater bases. It can be airlifted by Karkinos or Quetzal for fast deployment.
The Sarco's compact size and high damage output make it a strong choice for players needing a mobile aquatic predator.
Sarco spawns in cave and freshwater biomes. It is considered rare and appears across 17 ARK maps. The green zones on the spawn map indicate highest spawn density.

Tame a Sarco using the knockout method. Use a Bow with Tranq Arrows or a Longneck Rifle with Tranquilizer Darts to sedate it. Immobilize it first with a Chain Bola, Bear Trap, or Large Bear Trap.
Feed it Regular Kibble for the fastest taming. Raw Prime Fish Meat also works well. The process takes about 38 minutes and requires no Narcotics. Use the calculator below for your settings.

Killing a Sarco yields Sarcosuchus Skin, Hide, Raw Meat, and Raw Prime Meat. The Hatchet yields the most Hide, while the Pick maximizes Raw Meat. Use a Dino for the highest Raw Prime Meat yield.
Estimates based on game-extracted data (weights, quantities, harvest multipliers, damage type chains). Each harvest event independently rolls each resource - higher weight = higher drop chance. Actual yields vary with RNG.
Sarco takes +200% more damage from spike walls, making them highly effective for defense. It is also vulnerable to explosions and melee attacks from metal weapons. Conversely, it has -50% damage taken from ranged turrets and certain projectile impacts, reducing incoming fire damage.
