Shoulder Pet
The Parrot reproduces by laying fertilized eggs after mating. Incubation temperature must stay between 24°C and 28°C - use Air Conditioners, Standing Torches, or Dimetrodons to maintain the range. At the correct temperature, the egg hatches in approximately 2 hours and 56 minutes.
Full maturation from baby to adult takes ~1 day and 1 hour (1x rate), progressing slowly. During the baby phase (0–10%), hand-feed it directly. From 10% onward (juvenile), it can eat from a Feeding Trough.
Offspring inherit parental stats and have a small chance to mutate, gaining +2 levels in a random stat. Use the breeding calculator to plan food requirements, incubation timers, and maturation phases.
The Parrot's growth progresses through three stages: Baby (0–10%) lasts ~150 min and requires constant hand-feeding. Juvenile (10–50%) spans ~10h - it can eat from a Trough now. Adolescent (50–100%) takes ~13h - continues eating from troughs, nearly fully grown.
Imprint bonuses are significant: a fully imprinted Parrot gains 30% extra damage and damage resistance with its imprinter mounted. Imprint requests include cuddling, walks, and specific kibble - check the wiki for which kibble to stockpile.

Use the raising calculator to plan food requirements for raising Parrot babies through all three growth stages. Budget ~150 minutes for the Baby phase - this is when hand-feeding or Maewing nursing is mandatory.
Adjust the dino count to calculate food for multiple Parrot babies at once - essential for batch breeding operations. Consider food spoilage when choosing what to feed: Kibble lasts days, while Raw Meat spoils in minutes.

During the Baby phase (0-10%), you must hand-feed or use a Maewing to nurse. From Juvenile (10%+), dinos can eat from a Feeding Trough on their own. Use Preserving Salt in troughs to double spoil times.
The Parrot is a tamable, flying, omnivore creature in ARK: Survival Ascended. It belongs to the Shoulder Pet category.
Starting at 150 Health, it's relatively fragile. Melee starts at 100% - solid damage output that scales with level-ups. Stamina sits at 150 base, providing average stamina. A base Weight of 65 means minimal inventory space.
This is a passive tame: no tranquilizers needed. Get close without startling it, then offer food from your last hotbar slot. Its preferred food is Basic Kibble.
As a tame, the Parrot works well as a reconnaissance mount, offering fast travel and a bird's-eye view of the terrain. Breeding produces fertilized eggs that hatch within a 24°C–28°C temperature window. It can be cloned at a Cloning Chamber for 0.28 Element plus 0.01 Element per level.
