Planning a mass raise? The Paraceratherium raising calculator breaks down food needs per phase so nothing goes to waste. Expect ~556 minutes of active care during the Baby phase before it graduates to trough-feeding as a Juvenile.
Adjust the dino count to calculate food for multiple Paraceratherium babies at once - essential for batch breeding operations. Match your food choice to your play schedule - longer spoil timers mean less babysitting.

During the Baby phase (0-10%), you must hand-feed or use a Maewing to nurse. From Juvenile (10%+), dinos can eat from a Feeding Trough on their own. Use Preserving Salt in troughs to double spoil times.
Instead of laying eggs, the Paraceratherium carries its young through a gestation period. Gestation takes approximately 8 hours at default rates.
The baby Paraceratherium takes approximately 3 days and 20 hours to fully mature at default rates - over many real-world days, demanding serious time investment. During the baby phase (0–10%), hand-feed it directly. From 10% onward (juvenile), it can eat from a Feeding Trough.
Mutations can add +2 levels to any stat and change colors. Stacking mutations across generations is the key to min-maxed breeding lines. Use the breeding calculator to plan food requirements, incubation timers, and maturation phases.
Maturation has three phases: Baby (0–10%) lasts ~556 min and requires constant hand-feeding. Juvenile (10–50%) spans ~37h - it can eat from a Trough now. Adolescent (50–100%) takes ~46h - continues eating from troughs, nearly fully grown.
Don't skip imprinting - each successful imprint boosts the Paraceratherium's stats, and hitting 100% grants a 30% combat bonus when the imprinter rides it. Keep various kibble types on hand, as imprint requests are randomized between cuddles, walks, and kibble feeding.
The Paraceratherium, a tamable, herbivore creature in ARK: Survival Ascended, is well-known across multiple maps. It belongs to the Soaker category.
At 1,026 base HP, the Paraceratherium is impressively tough. Dealing 100% base Melee Damage, the Paraceratherium brings respectable melee power to the table. With 300 base Stamina, the Paraceratherium has moderate endurance. Weight capacity starts at 850, giving it excellent carrying capacity.
You'll need to knock the Paraceratherium unconscious before taming it. Tranquilizers are the standard approach. Superior Kibble is the most effective food for taming, offering the highest affinity per feeding.
As a tame, the Paraceratherium pulls double duty as both a capable resource harvester and pack animal. Breeding is via live birth rather than eggs, simplifying the process. A wild Paraceratherium is worth 12 base experience when killed. It can be cloned at a Cloning Chamber for 0.66 Element plus 0.01 Element per level.
